ATIA Event Platform and Technical Helpful Hints

  • To look at the daily schedule, go to the event landing page and select the day in the list to see a full list of the day’s activities. Select the day and a drop-down with the full day schedule will open.
  • If you purchased a registration package, other than full registration, you may not be able to access certain sessions. We have identified all the sessions in the schedule that are part of the free registration.
    • Free registrations will only be able to access welcome sessions, exhibitor sessions, education session #5 during our live event (“presented by” sessions), the Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecture, and the free pre-recorded sessions.
  • When accessing a live session, you will select “Register” and the system will automatically give you a “Join” link 30 minutes prior to the session start time.
    • Please be patient that some rooms may not open until 15 minutes before the session. You will see a message that the host has not opened the room until the room opens. Please be patient.
  • All sessions will be taking place inside a Zoom meeting or Zoom webinar rooms.

Kevin will share his history of evolving as an Augmentative Communicator, highlighting each transition to a new AAC strategy or a significant change to his current system and the difficulty of regaining communication speed and proficiency after transitioning to a new AAC system. He will also discuss the need for an Augmentative Communicator to develop communication strategies on the fly in situations where communication is secondary but still important like actively participating in sports.
