Strand Advisor Guidelines

Review the ATIA 2018 Education Program Committee Guidelines for information regarding the program, such as the role of a strand advisor, plans and procedures, and key deadlines.

  4.  Am I allowed to submit more than 2 abstracts? You are welcome to submit more than two proposals; however, based on the Strand Advisors recommendations, the two highest ranked sessions that contribute to a well-rounded and balanced educational program are eligible for inclusion in the program*. From an individual speaker perspective, this includes submissions where you are listed as primary or co-speaker.
    *Invited speaker sessions are exempt and may be included, for example, Pre-conferences Seminars, MTSS & Town Hall Sessions, QIAT Conversations, Smackdowns, Strand Spotlight Panels, and/or approved session moderators.
  5. I submitted one session on my own and was a co-presenter for two other sessions submitted by my colleagues.  What if my individual session was recommended for acceptance but the two other sessions where I am co-presenter are ranked more highly? Does that mean that my individual session will be rejected? ATIA will connect with the presenter on which two sessions he/she would like to be a part of. No session would be rejected; his/her name would just have to come off one.

2018 Ranking Process

A Strand Advisor’s main responsibility is to review, rank and select the presentations for ATIA’s 2018 Education Program.

Each Strand Advisor Team is responsible for:

    • Ranking speaker proposals for respective strand (Ranking, Alternate, Reject)
  • Reallocating to another strand if applicable
  • Providing notes on abstracts
  • Guidelines for reviewing submitted abstracts
  • How to rank sessions for ATIA 2018
