Wearable technology is on the rise and has staggering implications for individuals with executive functioning difficulties and accessibility needs. Devices offer a great deal of customization through built-in accessibility features and apps that can be installed to support individual needs. Wearables provide the haptic feedback convenience while ensures privacy. Using voice input or by tapping simple on screen controls, users can quickly act on notifications or alerts. Participants will be provided an overview of the built-in accessibility features, apps and outcomes of a wide range of wearables.
- Participants will be able to identify advantages and disadvantages of a variety of smartwatches and other wearables in order to select the device that best meets their functional requirements and budget.
- Participants will be able to identify at least five (5) apps for smartwatches that support executive functioning throughout the lifespan.
- Participants will be able to identify wearable options for individuals needing executive functioning support who do not want the commitment of a smart phone.
