This webinar will explore various apps that can be used by individuals or their caregivers to help them to transition out of school based programs and also living as independently as possible. Apps that help with navigating their community, their home and their work environment will be explored. Also, there are many “gadgets” on the market that can assist individuals in being independent in various tasks such as baking, taking medications, safety, environmental controls that will be discussed and demonstrated where possible.
- Participants will be able to identify at least one app that allows for video modeling.
- Participants will be able to explain at least 2 “gadgets” that allow for an individual to live more independently.
- Participants will be able to identify and describe 2 iPad apps that will assist an individual in independent living.
Donna has conducted several webinars for ATIA over the past 4 years on various ways to use the iPad with individuals. She also has presented at several conferences including ATIA 2014, and is a member of the several boards that deal with assisting disabled individuals accessing their world. Donna is involved with beta testing several apps for the iPad from various developers. She is also the owner of iteachitech that provides training and workshops for parents, teachers and students.
