Developed by an experienced American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified Speech Pathologist, APP2Speak® is an inexpensive photo-based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) software application that enables individuals to communicate more effectively. APP2Speak is available for both iOS and Android devices. The app is designed and created for individuals who experience speech impairments as a result of a stroke, brain injury, Parkinson Disease, ALS, autism, and other conditions effecting speech and communication. APP2Speak is a complete solution for anyone who has difficulty speaking. Users can take advantage of preprogrammed common phrases that allow them to easily express their everyday needs. APP2Speak is also completely customizable. You can quickly and easily create custom phrases using your own photos or take a photo within the app. The app uses a pre-recorded (or any voice that you personally record) to speak your message to family and friends. APP2Speak’s text-to-speech feature allows users to quickly program and access phrases they use frequently. This means conversations can flow naturally and effortlessly. The software provides easy-to-read instructions and includes a built-in “help” system, and it requires no special training to create the optional “voice” and “photo” customizations. Custom pages are endless, create and save one or more phrases per photo for convenient conversation.
