Conference Safety

Evacuation Emergency Procedures

Should an emergency occur during ATIA 2020 that requires all attendee/staff attention, ATIA will utilize push notifications via the mobile app to communicate as much as possible with attendees. Please be sure you have accepted to receive these within settings in the app.

If you or someone you know is in a life-threatening situation while at the Caribe Royale Hotel and Convention Center, please follow the below Evacuation Emergency Procedures:

  • Locate nearest house phone and Call 9-1-1.
  • The Convention Center is equipped with both an audible and visual alarm system.
  • Gather personal belongings and calmly walk to the nearest exit.
  • Depart Convention Center using the nearest, safest exit from building.
    • This may not be in a public area, but rather in the back service hallways of Convention Center. Exit will also depend on where the actual emergency is.
  • Hotel Staff will be assisting you to exits.
  • Remain outdoors and at a safe distance from emergency. Our tennis courts located on the southwest of the property are the recommended gathering area.
  • Hotel Staff will give the “all clear” signal when it is safe to return to the Convention Center.

Due to the size of the Caribe Royale, not every emergency may require an evacuation. Should an evacuation become necessary, please click the links to review the evacuation maps for both the East & West Side of the convention center:

If possible, it is best to gather in areas furthest away from the incident but in a safe/secure area such as across the street in a parking lot or garage. If an emergency evacuation does occur, please call 9-1-1 from any house phone.
