Purpose

The strategic decisions surrounding access for people with disabilities and the aging workforce are at the forefront for large corporations, government agencies and educational institutions. With 78 million baby boomers, 600 million people worldwide and 54 million people in the U.S. living with disabilities, today's organizations need to deliver accessible products and services to new and existing customers and employees in this important and growing market.

Held in conjuntion with the ATIA 2009 Chicago Conference, the ATIA Leadership Workshop on Accessibility provides educational sessions and networking opportunities specifically designed to help the leaders of today's corporate, government, and educational environments address accessibility issues. The Workshop discusses the business case for accessibility and its associated technologies and provides case studies of successful implementations and strategies.

Attendees can network with key industry executives and share insights into matters of employment, customer outreach and other accessibility issues. Held concurrently with the ATIA Chicago Conference, Workshop attendees are provided an opportunity to visit the ATIA Exhibit Hall and meet with assistive technology manufacturers and service providers to discuss their specific needs.

The ATIA Leadership Workshop provides the accessibility professional from any background with the information needed to begin or enhance their accessibility integration.

This workshop is hosted by ATIA during the ATIA Chicago Conference.
